About

In my spare time, and in my dreams, you’ll often find me in my workroom experimenting with a new technique or planning my next project. I’m particularly interested in printing – monoprinting, screen printing and linocut (although I’ve got all the gear and no idea on that last one). I tend to work most often with natural themes – birds, flowers, trees and I get a lot of my inspiration from old books and from finding treasures out in the real world.

I love working with paper and fabric but I’m thinking of branching out a bit into printing onto other surfaces.  I ‘art’ like I cook – trying things out until they work for me.

I took up pottery a couple of years ago so I have a house full of half-made pots and plates, great for practising surface decoration – did you know you can screen print onto porcelain too?

I love to admire other people’s work and to be surrounded by pieces that make me smile.

I do this because I love it.

It’s what makes me a happy anorak.
