‘If they’re still there, I have to have them.’
In a quiet Northampton street, on a pretty but unassuming residential terrace, there’s a little gem of a shop called 15 Collingwood. Happy anorak discovered it in late autumn 2016 drawn to the mid-century furniture in the window and the beautiful painted sign above. Inside my eyes fell on a rack full of limited edition prints – bears, whales, octopuses in monochrome on beautiful paper. Wow! I leafed carefully through them, separating out my favourites, whittling them down bit by bit into a manageable number until I was left with four insects, bold, exotic, fascinating. I stepped away, took a deep breath and remembered that I went in to look for Christmas presents for other people…. the sadness.
Fast forward 3-4 months and I couldn’t believe my luck when two of my four favourites were still there, still gorgeous, just waiting for me to come back.
Well what would you have done? Exactly. Only thing now is to find a wall to put them on….
